ARTIFACTS

Over the past 100 years, the Government of Belize has developed a national collection of ancient Maya artifacts. These artifacts, recovered from scientific excavations and even from illegal looting, create form the basis for our understanding of this ancient Maya world.

Artifacts from all eras of the ancient Maya sites in Belize will be accessed here. A sample of the objects and their presentation methods is below. Many will be presented an object movies that allow the viewer to see all sides of an object. Some will include data about their size, their deposition, and other important information.
